So last weekend I finished my clutch install on a 92 GSX and then it would not engage.
Bleed the shiat out of the system , still will not engage.Nothing but grinding in reverse and tries to stall out in first.

Took the clutch fork boot off and found the fingers on the P/P all the way up against the disk.

I searched and did all the items I knew to do.
Car is 100% stock, XTD stg two, recut stock flywheel.New slave, new master, new fork,OEM release bearing and retainer, pivot ball etc...

All I really am looking for is what would cause this?
Incorrect FW turning? Did I some how mess up something I have done a half dozen times before?

My gut tells me its coming out again this weekend as I have a spare F/W that came out of my 90 Tsi that was perfect.

I had a smiliar problem with my car but it had to do with the step of the flywheel.

Another time it was fixed by simply putting in a clutch extension rod. Some of these aftermarket kits have different lengths on TOB's and PP heights and Flywheel step so the best way to bypass all that is to try for an extension rod.

Did you know that the ACT TOB is a few mm shorter than that OEM one?? That's right I know first hand and that was one of the reasons my clutch wouldn't release all the way.

OEM TOB , as stated in my orginal post.
And IMO a extended rod is a band-aid for an incorrectly adjusted system or worn parts.
everything is new.
I do believe that its a F/W step issue though.
I am going to take it back down this weekend and install my spare F/W to see if it solves the issue.

Also make sure you have the proper graphite lube on the clutch disc/shaft splines, pivot ball, and the shaft that the TOB slides on. You may have something hanging up causing the disc to never completely release. This is my current problem after just installing tranny.

Well , its fixed.Took it out for victory lap last nite.In my hast to put it together I put the disc in backwards.:shhh:
Well guess we all mess up once in a while:mad:

Thanks for the responses though.
