ok so ive been fighting this horrific noise coming from my engine for about a week now.
car hasnt been drove. done the normal test to determine that it isnt a rod knock or lifter tick.
if you lay under the car you can tell the noise is more pronounced to the flywheel side opossed to the timing belt side.
took my inspection plate off to get a little view of the flywheel.
really didnt notice anything to abnormal other than wear on the outside corner of the teeth.
im guessing this is probably from the starter.
car has a new slave/master cylinder and new throwout bearing that was installed before i had the car. im wondering if when he did that he took the flywheel off and didnt use the correct threadlock or didnt torque the bolts to spec.
was wondering if i would be able to tell if there is play in the flywheel without dropping the tranny
Thanks
Jared
