Resolved 420A Melting coil packs

Try checking your power transistor if it is out of specs it can cause very quick coil pack melt down, or explosion in my case. I think you take a multimeter and check the ohms from terminals 3-7. There should be no continuity, if there is, like mine was, itll cause the driver side coil to overheat or blow. But check a Haynes manual under Power Transistor Check and Replacement to get the exact details i dont have mine near me or id be a lil more specific.

This might be helpful if 2g NT's had power transistors but they drive the coils from the PCM.

That's ok you had the terminals incorrect anyway for turbo.

If the engine runs on all 4 cylinders (has spark) see my post 2. If only gets spark on 2 cylinders or none, turn engine off, disconnect the coil connector and see if the PCM has it's output transistors shorted. Do this by measuring resistance from the harness side black/blue wire to ground and then the brown to ground. Both should have no continuity (infinite resistance). If either has low resistance either the PCM must be repaired/replaced OR one of the wires from there to the PCM (they go to pins 3 & 11) is shorted to ground. Unplug the PCM and repeat test to see which.
