I've just completed my first engine swap with a friend into my 92 laser rs awd. A lot of new stuff was added to the car, but not much electrical other then a few gauges, datalogger, and a MAFt. Everything else was bolt ons.

After we got everything hooked up and timed the engine, I've noticed a few odd things with my electrical. I was having a lot of trouble at first getting the car to stay started after it was cranked over and loosing complete power, so I took my alternator off and had it tested. Turned out fine, so next step was to have the battery checked. Well I ended up just replacing the battery when I found out it was dead and bought a new one.

Car starts up fine now and I can turn my headlights on with no problem, but now the seat belts won't go up or down unless the car is started(I don't remember if it suppose to do that). I took the car for a test drive yesterday and was loosing complete power in the car and the car was dieing every time I let off the accelerator. I was going roughly 30mph and the car was just kept dieing every time I let the rpms drop.

I checked my logger and had a constant 11.8v-12v coming from the battery, so I know it isn't that. Could this be a bad ground or fuse? I'm quite the newb when it comes to checking all the relays and fuses, so I'm trying to find out a good place to start and how I can troubleshoot this problem. Could this problem also be caused by something else and not be electrical? The Reason I think it is something electrical is because of the seat belts not working when the car isn't started.

I know that is kind of long, but thanks in advance for any help.

Yeah, never mind figured it out. Turned out the 80Amp fuse for the Alt was blown. Thought I had checked it before, but I guess not good enough. Replaced it and everything works fine. :D
