[RESOLVED] CW check in an auto

OK i've done some searching and haven't found this one... How can i check for possible crank walk in an automatic? All the threads speak of a 5spd and if the clutch gets mushy on hard left turns but nothing about an auto... Do automatics just not crankwalk? My car is a 95 TSi AWD so I know it does have the 7 bolt motor based on build date and such. I don't really have a reason to suspect CW as of yet I just wanna know how to check for it...or what some symptoms are would even be usefull to kep in mind...

Jack it up and use the same technique for measuring CW on a standard trans car.

It's rare on a manual transmission car. It's more rare on automatics. Unless you have some sort of symptoms, put it out of your mind.

OK so the .00055 reading he got on his gauge, is that good or bad he doesn't really say but thank you for the link. At least it'll give me one more thing to check and make sure is ok on the car.

2g crankshaft end play standard value is .0020"-.0071" and spec limit is .0098" so his .0055" is ok.
