i just rebilut my engine to stock specs and got it runnnig last weekend. i have drove it like 200 miles so far. and i am having two problrms. my first problem is that in 4th gear when i get to around 3k the engine revs up really quickly like instantly to 5k. im not sure what is going on! is it suposed to do that? my second problem is that tonight i was going down the high way in 4th at like 2.5k and my friend took off and i accelerated after him, the car pulled hard at first and then it did the thing i metioned earlier. around 5k the whole car jurked and and i think it might have back fired. it felt like i had blown a transmission. it shook the car super hard. i let off and then accelerated a little and the car ran perfect still. what is going on!? i am running like 11psi on a homemade mbc. I put a fuel pump out of a n/t 3000gt in my car when my fuel pump went out last year. could that be my problem? i still have the stock injectors w/ the 14b and 2 1/2" full exhust

ok first of all i posed 2 diffrent questions. i mentioned fuel cut as a possible answer to that question. the first time it ended up being a whole list of things not limited to but including maf, vaccum leaks, bad egr. second i am now having a new problem. this happen to me last night and i was wondering if anyone had had this same problem. i have done more research and decided that i hit fuel cut due to a poor fuel pump.i still do not know what the jump in rpms from 3k to 5k is related to. if anyone could help i would love that!

so the above link is bad. it ended up being a bad fuel pump that was causing my problems. car pulls great now!
