Well, I have the OEM Speakers and Amp in my car, and I am running an Alpine head unit. It sounds really good and clean but when I cruise for awhile on louder volumes it will eventually cut out on me and stop playing. However, it will resume playing the song when I go to a lower volume.. and if I pause and start it again later it will allow the same thing to happen starting at higher volume. I noticed when I unplug the stock amp it doesn't affect sound at all. So I left it plugged in as it was when I got the car.. Anybody know whats going on there? Thanks for the help:dsm:

If it actually shuts off, I would check your ground wire. Most aftermarket headunits will cut out if they dont get 11-12+ volts.

If just your sound is cutting out, it sounds like the internal amp is overheating.

Im still not sure if the amp needs bypassed or if it can be just unplugged....
