my friend was selling his 97 gsx for 2800 so i just took it off his hands
and i went for a drive around the block and the gearbox felt like i was pushing a car. it takes alot of effort to put it in gear and im not sure this will be the solution but im planning on trying a different tranny fluid.
and another problem is that the gsx likes to stay out of gears 2,4,R. basically 3 down.
my friend said it was because we put my J pipe that was involved in a front end crash and resulting of serious bend on the Jpipe thus blocking(?) the shift fork or something like that.

help me out please..i want to get this car on the road asap:cry:

Usually that is an improperly working shift cable. Where the rubber is starting to seperate on the end of the cable. On top of the trans inspect the cables. A new set, or some zip ties if your clever will get you by. But Its not the fluid (But I would flush it and add new since you just got it) Check it out and check back. There could be more problems, but its pretty common when a cable is going south you have problems with the top or bottom 3. Out of adjustment would be problems with 1/2 and/or 5/R But I am not sure you can adjust 2g cables.
