New head/no compression on 2 and 3

Well I got a my head back from the machine shop after a timing belt issue. I was using a head from the junkyard with no issues besides for a little oil consumption. I decided to put my new head on with all new valves, seals, etc. Put it all together and it runs on 2 cylinders. Compression test came up with no compression in 2 and 3. Checked timing marks and they are dead nuts. Any idea's??
 
See if you can borrow a leakdown tester to try and locate where the compression is going.
I would say that something is wrong with the head since the car was running with a different head.
 
Timing was dead nuts and I have 4 bent exhaust valves on 2 and 3. They're just barely stuck open. What a pain in the butt. Anyone think the lifters could have done this?

Even if the lifters are bad, wouldn't the springs keep them closed?
 
i can't even imagine the lifters doing it. Don't see how it would physically be possible. You didn't have any problems while trying to time it did you? Did the machine shop not check the valves?
 
All the valves were brand new and she timed perfectly. We were actually dumb founded as we got the timing perfect on the first shot. I'm thinking he might have damaged the valves when he set the head down on the bench to put the intake and exhaust manifolds on. Thats the only thing I can come up with.
