Okay i was on vacation for almost two weeks. So my car just sat there not running once. I come back I try to turn it on. I could hear the fuel pump wine up, I could hear the fuel going to the Fuel Pressure regulator it reads 43psi but theres this loud ticking sound coming from around the intake manifold. Everytime I turn the key to get the car up and running it wont turn on and theres that loud ticking sound. Not sure what it is. Any ideas?

Very very unlikely for fuel to go bad in 2 weeks. 3 thing an engine needs to run is fuel, spark, and compresson. To check your spark and fuel. Turn the engine over a few times, then take the plugs out 1 by 1 and see if they have gas on them. If they have gas on them, then you have fuel. Then clean the gas off them and ground them to the exhaust manifold then have someone crank the engine. If you see spark then your ignition is fine. Last thing is compresson. Get a compression tester and check if you have good compression. If those 3 things don't help you, come back here.:thumb:

my car usually sits for 2 weeks at a time, i never have problems with gas or anything like that. I don't think that this is as easy as that. I'd start with battery. Whenever i've had low charge i'll hear the clicking too. Good luck man.

When you hear the ticking sounds, is it when you turn the key to on when you hear the fuel pump come on? Or when you try to turn over the engine? Also if your engine doesn't turn over at all and just clicks then I would agree battery. But if not then its probably something else.

idmtray, an engine needs fuel. spark, and air to create the combustion. You deffinetly need the compression though. You can have perfect compression, perfect spark, and perfect fuel and no life because it needs airflow LOL.

I say you should take the battery to autozone or one of those places and have it checked because if the engine isnt turning over its either because the battery inst puuting out enough power to the starter or the starter is bad, which i dont that could happen in two weeks.
