ok I have a 92 eagle talon awd ,the number on the gear box is kw5m332npxv ny7919, the one I bought has the number kw5m332nqzs kp2624 ,trying to figure out what it came from ,and is there a difference in the two before I change them out ,and if I have to change anything ,thanks:(

This is a hard topic, but Ill lend my knowledge.

If the 5 digits after the first digit (k) are -
W5M33 = AWD
W5M31 = FWD

When you look behind those digits, youll see 2npXX

If the XX is -
XV = 91-94
ZS = 90

Looks like you have a 91-94 in your car and you purchased a 90.

The only difference is the bracket on the tranny that holds the cables. Everything else should bolt and fit right up.

Hopefully that helps you out :thumb:

:thumb::thumb:so if I take the linkage from my 92 it should work or will the cables be to long or to short .or should I just use the bracket on the 90 gearbox. I was told it was from a 92 but I guess not LOL .

With DSMs, trannies can be swapped more than clients and a prostitute.

From what I know the 92 cables should work with your 90 tranny and bracket. Just give it a try. If not, swap in some 90 cables, adjust, and youll be set.

follow up, I just got gearbox installed and all hooked up ,adjusted cables ,goes into gears no prodlem ,but can,t get it in reverse now since I did the adjustment . I noticed that the one cable was about 1.5 inch short of the linkage .was wondering how would I be able to lever of the rod without pulling it apart, I tried to hit the pin out, but it wouldn,t go all the way out.:confused:

Are you sure you dont have the cables switched around? Look at your shifter and note which cable does what (left/right, or back and forth) Then match the cables with your tranny shifter. Make sense?
