Hey guys quick question for ya,

I saw the other day that the wires in my tps connector were pulled out OMG
By this i mean the 3 wires that go into the harness that connects to the sensor itself.
No idea how it happened, but nontheless it happened.
Ever since this happened it seems my car has been a real pain in the ass to start, could this be causing the problem or would it not make it hard to start?
Also, is there anyway to fix this? Could you pop off the small red piece on the connector and fit the wires back in?
Sorry i really have very little knowledge about the electrical components on cars.

So i guess what i'm really asking here is:

A) Can a disconnected throttle position sensor cause the car to be hard to start??

and

B) Can the three wires that go into the connector be put back in if they've been ripped out??

I'm having a similar problem, and I'm trying to narrow it down between my fuel system, TPS, and headgaasket. I'm pretty sure I popped my stock headgasket doing multiple 20+ psi pulls. I need to get my laptop working so I can test my TPS using DSMLink.

Any sensor unplugged or damaged can cause hard starting. When your engine is cold the first sensor the pcm looks at is the coolant temp sensor. That way it knows how much fuel to modulate through the injectors. All sensors need to be plugged in and working properly for your pcm to regulate fuel properly. That's an EPA thing.

Good Luck

haha ya i experienced that coolant sensor problem. five minutes of cranking(Y)

so as for my other question, is it possible to fix that connector or no?

Depends on how far into the connector that the wries frayed. If there's enough wire left, you can just resolder them and go, if not, it might be a good idea to just purchase a used one from a member, junkyard or mitsugraveyard.

Alright well i think a good chunk of them came out so ill just go get another one from a local yard. Thanks for your help guys, never a problem tuners cant solve!
