leaking injectors

hey guys,

it seems like my new FIC injectors are leaking a bit... Ive discovered little puddles of fuel sitting on the inlet manifold behind the injectors.

Has anyone else experienced this? How have you overcome it?

When the leak is fixed, should it have an affect on my tune/air fuel ratios with my aftermarket ecu, no o2 sensor, afm, etc.?

Sounds to me like an install issue.

Did you properly tork down the rail and lubricate the upper o-ring prior to install to make sure it seals without twisting? Also, did you replace the lower insulators (get hard and brittle with age) / make sure they are sealing the injector to the head?

if you didn't, replace both. i used to have the same problem, my fix was a new lower injector seal for cylinder #1..

also, the lower seals only go in one way if i'm not mistaken( there's a little ridge that corresponds to the bottom of the injector seat), a couple of times i put them on backwards....

also, install the lower ring into the head, then slide the injectors onto them. (actually get the rail like 3/4 of the way in, then seat the injectors by hand. they flopped around on me and once failed to seat properly) once I tried putting the lower rings on the injectors, and it didn't work.

I had a problem like that, all I did was put new o rings in and make sure I had the bolts tourqued to the right specs. I would think that that would mess up your air/fuel mixture up.

When I installed my 650's i had the same problem. I just loosend the fuel rail and moved the injectors around so the seal was down all the way. Never leaked after. When your car is running you should beable to see a drip on if its coming from the top or bottom of the injectors and can tell then.

What about if the fuel is leaking through the injector. I pressurize the rail to 45psi and the pressure slowly drops. I touch the injector with my finger and i get fuel on my finger. Nothing is hooked up to the injector so it can't be active. What can I do. Y is it leaking through the injector???????????????????

Sounds like it is coming from the upper seal then. The leak is small enough that the fuel is not spraying out but is seeping and running down the outside of the injector. If the injector is not active then there should be no fuel below the pintle or disc seat to leak.

Its not running down the injector ### I have it in the car upside down to test and you toilet paper to check around the seal. If I twist it to a point and stick it in the injector it imeaditly soaks up the fuel. anyones thoughts would be greatly helpful to me. THanks........

Return the injectors if they are brand new!

they are new but I was hoping to just fix the problem but if it can't be fixed then I will. I guess I'll call them monday. Then I'll be about a 4weeks before I will get them back......
