Ok, I cut some wires that i should not have and blew some fuses. I fixed all of the fuses except the reading lights on the rear view mirror. Where is the fuse or relay located for these lights?

yes checked all those and found nothing, there has to be more fuses somewere. I even looked it up in the book for my car and found nothing. Does anyone know how to fix this?

Engine fuse box "Room Lamp" or kick panel fuse box "Gauge" and "Door Lock". If none of these you may have blown the ETACS-ECU (which controls the lamps dimming) which is going to be very pricey. Pray you melted a wire instead.

You don't want to know (probably hundreds) - so much that you'll say forget it. Only Satan will have it.
Do the reading lights come on with the switches? This bypasses the ETACS-ECU (which is only used for the auto-dim) and just connects them to the 10A "room lamp" fuse in engine fusebox. You should have +12V on the switch's black/white wire (and the black wire should go to ground) - check these. Where did you cut the wires?

I cut the power antana and it surged to all the fuses. But I went though all of them everywere. Do u think I could just rewire it direct and bypass the hardware thats broke?

Make sure you check the ACC fuse , and the fuse for the cigar lighter. Might sound stupid, but the cigar lighter fuse is linked with a few other things inside the car.

My cigar lighter works fine. Im pretty sure that it is the dimming part of the lights, but they don't come on at all so i think i will try to wire it direct or to something that turns on and off with the key. I just want to know if that will be okay and not overload anything? Also were is the ETACS-ECU located?

You should have power on the switch's black/white. Check it with a voltmeter. If you do then either the switch is bad, lights bad, or switch's black wire isn't connected to ground anymore. If you don't then the wire (or fuse) must have melted. It's ok to wire another power wire to the switch's black/white (if you have a power sunroof you can tie into it's red/black wire (always power) or red/green (key on power). ETACS-ECU is on the other side of the large junction block by driver's foot panel (where fusebox attaches).

In about three months i will be turbo charging, so i may need more advice about stuff i may not be able to figure out. I really enjoy this site and all the information i have gathered to make my car the best it can be.
