dome light smoke

Dome lights (in rear view mirror) are smoking after I replaced them, it doesnt smell like electrical burn.. I turn it on for about 10 seconds and it starts to smoke, I dont think I messed up any wiring when I replaced them...just slid them into the metal prongs. If there is a problem with this... which I definitetly believe there is.. how do I take the rear view mirror off? Thanks

Edit- I tried to put the stock bulb back in that was still good and it started to smoke too.. Both sides not just 1.. could this be normal wtf?

Edit 2- K I really just want these bulbs to stop smoking, I let it run for about 30 seconds now and it didnt stop so I dont know wtf to do.. I didnt do anything but replace the bulbs and then change them they started smokin so I changed them back to stock and now the stock ones smoke too.. The metal doesnt look like it is touching on anything (mainly talking about the shiny reflector looking piece that sits behind the light) everything else is plastic so I dont see what would make it smoke other than it being something normal..

Run out to your car...turn on the dome light on the rear view mirror with the cover off.. let it sit for 10-30 seconds and tell me if you see minor smoke coming off the bulb.. I have already posted about this and need to fix it very very soon so I dont fry something, as for now the bulbs are pulled.. someone please tell me if you get smoke so I know if its normal or not..

Do you have the vent slots in the back covered up?

I didnt neccessarily double post, the first one was a question about this and the second one was asking for someone to do something for me.. but yes I do apologize for doing that.
No nothing is covered up but with the lenses off and the mirror turned upward so that the lights are facing the back of the car, I see smoke emitting from the lights. So I need to know if the stock bulb in the dsm is supposed to emit enough heat as mine is doing and throw out light smoke. It doesnt smell like electrical wires burning, it just smells like the bulb emitting alot of heat. As far as the vent your talking about, is it there to allow the smoke to excape? I mean if theres a vent there, then obviously these bulbs get hot.. but are they supposed to emit smoke? I am very skeptical about electrical wires ever since I had my old car and the headlight wires fried causing over 60 bucks in damage. Thanks man

The slot is to let heat escape. There's also slots on the top of the case above each bulb. They do get very hot (my entire case is quite warm) but they should not smoke! Something is wrong - short, incorrect bulb wattage (10W max), bulb rubbing against something, etc.
