I have searched this thread for quite some time now, and couldnt find anyone having my exact problem. So here I am driving my 1990 Talon TSi (just had COP, and MSD DIS-2 Ignition installed about two weeks prior) and I pull up to a stop sign and begin to pull away as usual. I get to about 2k RPMs and as I was still pushing the gas pedal the car just stalled and died. Which to me was very odd because the car has never stalled when I gave it gas. It was like the pedal didnt respond when I pushed it, like the throttle wasnt working. After looking around the engine bay to see if any of the wires had broke loose. Everything looked fine, and being as confused and frustrated as I was I had pushed the car back home. I know I am getting fuel because I checked for it and its obvious by the smell. I attempted to kick start the car on a small hill and it did turn over, but once again there was no response from the gas pedal, and the car just died. I checked the ECU, and fuel right away and couldnt find anything wrong. Next thing I was going to do was check for spark (didnt do it right away because I didnt want to take apart the Coil on Plug. I was looking around and read that not having the temp sensor hooked up right can cause it to not want to start. I was looking to just ground the temp sensor (heard that sometimes works) I also didnt want to just go out replacing parts I didnt know were broken or not. My ECU looks fine in terms of capacitors. The timing belt turns when I go to crank it over (still hoping I didnt jump timing) I tried messing with the CAS but that didnt seem to do any good. I have a plug on the passenger side thats purple on the inside that isnt connected, but didnt seem to affect the car from running before. The engine has 51k miles on it so Im praying I didnt mess up any internals. When the car died it didnt make any weird noises, or grinds (thankfully) like in others posts I have read about. The car simply stalled out and does not want to start. Any information would be greatly appreciated.
