dsm link problem?

hey every one i just got my car tunned about 2 or 3 weeks ago and i ran my car at the track about 2 days ago and i wanted to change the launch control/rpms i pluged it to the lap top and to the obdII and i press capture and it allways gives me a yellow light 2 times and then red and a dialog box says""""FAILED:'JAVA.io.IOException:Command timed out'

can any one tell me ### can be i tryed so manny times and so manny difrent cabels and nothing thanks every one

If you're getting the IO: Command Timed Out message that means there's a problem with dsmlink communicating to your ecu, it could be anything from a bad adapter or com port not being set up correctly. This is the official DSMLink Troubleshooting page.

I had that problem before. The one time i had to re-download the software and it fixed it. It happend another time and it was the actual adapter for the diagnostic port that was goofed up. Try re-downloading the software first..its the easier way to see if it fixes it... If that doesnt work i would play with the cable, adapter and port plug and if it still doesnt work, its more than likely the adapter.

hey man thanks alot it was set to com 3 and it was com 4 and i uninstall the dsmlink and install it again and it works like a chanmp thanks alot
