I am having a problem connecting with DSMLink. It is not the usual problem, however. My issue is that the car was connecting fine for a while, only that it seemed as if the sampling rate was kinda slow. We tried to do a pull and part way through the data log disconnected. So we tried to connect again, but it would not allow us to. After fighting with it a while, now it will only connect when the car is in the "ON" position, but not running. If we turn the engine over, we cannot get it to connect.

We have checked all the normal problem areas: dignostic plug wiring, solder joints in the cable, and we are using resistor type plugs

On a side note, we have noticed that when the car is not running, the MAP/READING light will not turn on. But when the car is running, the light will come back on after a while, then turn on and off intermittently.

Your best bet is going to be getting onto the DSMLink forums and talking to those guys. They should be able to help you immediately.

Every forum I've posted on says go post on DSMLink forums....not to bag on you...but like I don't know that already. I tried...

Yeah, you have to have a legal copy of DSMLink to get in there. A good portion of the community isn't too friendly toward EPROM piracy, even if it does happen.

And if it's a pirated copy, maybe that's a part of your problem. Bad burns and all.

I mean that I've already posted on that forum, and I haven't gotten any useful responses. I have a legit copy.
