I have a automatic 97 gsx and basically when I floor it, it makes a "grinding" sound from the engine and doesnt really go anywhere. It actually goes faster when I "nearly" floor it which is strange. I'm not a street racer or anything so I rarely floor the thing, but I can tell something is obviously wrong. Usually when you floor it, the car should go somewhere! Sorry if my explanation isnt too detailed, I love my car but wouldnt exactly call myself an ethusiast. :)

Also wanted to mention I tried searching but couldnt find anyone with a similiar problem and solution.

sounds like its your clutch/tranny. My guess would be it is work that sounds like you wouldn't do yourself, so you might have to get it checked out by a mechanic. These problems normaly can cause more problems when ignored, so don't keep driving if something's gone/going wrong. Maybe someone else can give you a more detailed idea of what might be wrong. Good luck :dsm:
