Okay guys. I'm hoping that you can help me with this. I hooked up an OB and it came up as engine coolant temp and IAT sensors. I replaced the IAT sensor and reset. Light came back on and it only listed IAT again. Reset it about two more times and then decided that it may have been a faulty sensor. Well, once again, it happened. I have checked the wiring and it all looks good. What else could it be? Be kind as I am just starting out on trying to learn about my eclipse GS:dsm:

(...) bad ECU (check inside for leaky capacitors).

I am with you all the way.

ECU's seem to fail on '95 models, but '96 and up seem to be pretty dependable on 2gnt's. Not saying it is not bad, of course.

Going along with "bad wire to ECU", one problem that does plague all 2gnt'rs is the fact that most of the main harness runs along the side of the EGR pipe on the right side of the motor (as looking from the front of the car). This gets very hot, obviously, and can melt the insulation off the wires, sometimes without melting the loom itself. Pulling the wire loom and all the tape and inspecting the wires in this area often shows shorts.
