Okay. I know I'm new to posting, but not new to forums and the search bar.

I sold my 420A Turbo (7 PSI and no LSD was not my bag anymore)

and purchased a 94 GSX (7/4 bolt) with a burned out flywheel. I worked as a Jr. Tech at a Satan Dealership and purchased the car from an old man who used it as a winter car.

The GSX had 71K original when I brought it, resurfaced the flywheel, drained all fluids and threw in a Exedy Stage 1 clutch and used the resealing kit for the leaky Xfer Case.

This morning while trying to get out of the snow here in Chicago, I was rocking the car back and forth and finally pulled out of the snow, I was driving down the street and shifted to 2nd, heard a slight clunk and bam!!!!

...lost power. Clutch pedal went hella stiff and makes a whirling noise when fully depressed. Car will go into all gears but will not engage (ex. Car will run in 1st with clutch out and not stall....oops).

I smelled clutch the entire time I pushed it into a vacant spot in front of my apartment. Master and Slave were JUST replaced and now master cylinder is at MIN. (Was at MAX. 2 weeks ago)

TOB or Pivot fork? Or maybe I overheated the clutch? Or Flywheel got scourged?

(One thing I might add, is when I resurfaced the flywheel, it only had 1 dowel pin still retained, and being the quick impaitent bastard I am, still threw it on the car. But I've heard over people installing flywheels and clutches WITH dowel pins and only the bolts and had no problems with minimal bolt ons)

ANY HELP, as everyone says, IS ALWAYS APPRECIATED!!!!!!!

(If you live in Chicago and know the problem, you can hit me with a shovel. :beatentodeath: )

chances are the clutch and flywheel surfaces are toast. Did you check the master/slave cylinders for leaks, there is no reason the master should be low if it is not leaking.

Sounds like a spring broke out of your clutch disc. When you push in the clutch pedal does the car shake..?

Crap. I'm pretty much 100% sure you guys are right. The Master and Slave were fine, I bled the slave and readjusted the clutch pedal just a smudge. My shifter Linkages were adjusted to.

No leaking but I'm pretty sure the clutch and flywheel are toast. I could still smell the faint odor of burnt surfaces. The Area by the clutch and flywheel bell housing were smoking a bit when this occured. I did some more searching with the dowel pins and it seems this is a known problem. Maybe next time I'll wait for dowel pins to arrive. Thanks Guys!

I should hold a local event on the street and get some DSMers to help me pull the trans off by the curb.

Free Beer?

Without taking the trans off yet, how would I be able to tell it's just the clutch and flywheel? I'm hoping I didn't blow the front diff. Should I jack the car up and spin the wheels to see if somethings jacked?

I would hate to have all the stuff ready for the clutch and flywheel, and then find out it's the diff?

2.1 fidanza clutch and a light flywheel sound like a good combo? Or maybe the 3.2? I heard that kelvar compound and 4 puck still have a good engagement for street use.
