1990 awd tranny problems

I have an awd eclipse and ever since i got the car from some idot, the tranny would grind while down shifting from 3rd to 2nd. I would have to sort of double clutch it to get it to go into 2nd. And also it would not go into 1st unless im completely stopped. is that a bad tranny or can an adjustment be made to fix this. hopefully one of the dsm wizards can help me.

get a buddy and when you press the clutch in see if the slave is moving or not you might have some air in the line to it maybe a quick bleed or a new one might work and check your shifter calbes under the stick maybe out of adjustment so try this and get back to us
