So hears my problem, I have 97 gsx with basic mods ( in profile). The car stumbles on accelaration right around 3,000 rpms in all gears with a constant check engine light. I'm taking it to a data logger to read the code tomorrow. I checked my boost gauge and normal vacum no problem. I check A/F gauge no prolem. I replaced the spark plugs and it still has the stumble. I now also have a stumble in the idle. I've researched this topic in many areas and must people say do a boost test, its your fuel filter, or its your plugs. I have all new hoses so i dont believe thats a problem. I found one thread that the problem was very simliar to mine but with a flashing check engine light and it ended up being a faulty coil pack. I'm getting the code read tomorrow and hoping its the coil pack. Any feedback would be really appreciated.

Well, first thing is are you recirc'ing your BOV? Just a question.

You said upon acceleration your car will stumble. Is this at WOT? T25 does spool around there (maybe sooner). If you just slowly accelerate does your car rev up fine?

Getting the code read will tell you the most. If your spark wires are old you could try replacing those. Cheaper than a coil pack.

Yes at wot this occurs. If i slowly accelerate it does not occur as bad. I do not have a recirculating kit for my Hks BOV, but it has been running perfect for a long time. Hopefully the diagnostics tells me someting.

Did you do a real boost leak test? Do that first. Not just hand checking clamps and couplers. A real boost leak test.

I know you said you were told to check the plugs and I assume you did. I had the same prob in my lancer, (a misfire in the first cylinder), ended up simple. The plug was arcing. All I did was put small amount of dielectric grease inside the spark plug wire and on the plug itself and it totally fixed the problem. Even if that doesn't fix it you should still use some anyway.:thumb:

i know this thread is old but i had the same problem as you discribe... turned out one of my injector was bad. thought i post to help if you hadn't fix the problem already
