I have a 96 eagle talon tsi AWD. I was driving the car and everything was fine. I took the car to get it inspected and when I started the car up to leave, it would not go into gear. I turn the car off and it will go into every gear. The clutch also feels softer than before. What could cause this problem so sudden when the clutch was working fine 5 minutes before? I checked the fluid levels and everything is full, nothing is leaking anywhere. Is it possible that the clutch came out of adjustment somehow and is not not engaging and disengaging all the way? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I would check out your slave cylinder and clutch cylinder. Look under the dash and see if the clutch cylinder is leaking down the fire wall. Check the tranny for the slave cylinder for leaks. Maybe it lost pressure and causing your problems. I would check that first then get farther into it. The only thing you can adjust is the shifter cables which I don't think that would cause it unless very hard shifting occured and binded them up.

Don't know why, but when I have amatuers drive my car and they stall it... the master cylinder comes out of adjustment. I simply crawl on my back with my legs hanging out my door and adjust the master cylinder. It's a 12mm nut that locks the rod and then you have to rotate the rod a few rotations so that it extends and then lock the nut on again. I never loose fluid. No leaks. Brand new slave and master. Stainless steel line. And replaced the whole line from master cylinder to stainless to slave. And anytime I take the damn thing to the car wash and they stall it. I have to adjust it again. Don't know why, but yes your clutch is not fully disengaging upon pressin the clutch pedal. Readjust it.
