Alright now some of you may have read my post in the hangout about spinning a bearing. But now looking at some other posts i am kind of confused. When the rod bearing goes does it make a constant sound when revving? Mine is more of an intermittent rattling noise throughout the entire rpm band. I am confused. I had gold shavings in the oil pan, and when i pulled the turbo it sounded like a baby rattle. Let me know what you guys think.

A rod bearing will knock and knock in conjunction with rpm's. meaning as rpms increase so will the knocks. it speeds up... do u mean that the turbo itself sounded like a baby rattle...?

A rod knock can take on alot of sounds. It can come and go or be constant. If the turbo rattles then you can assume it is junk.
