Well as its says my base timming is sitting at 24* at idle. I found this problem the hard way when I wasn't logging and when into boost any started detonating bad at 5K. So I figured boost lk no big deal, but no lk. So I started the car up and started logging timming is reading 24* insted of the 6* it normally reads. Here is my question my engine coolant temp sensor is bad. Which I'm pretty sure it just controls the fans and shouldn't screw with timming. So I'm pretty much just looking at the ECU, CAS, and the crank position sensor right? Btw all the timming marks are all good.

The timing pin on a 2G has to be grounded to force the correct timing, then use a light to confirm. You don't adjust the CAS to correct timing on a 2G.

Without the timing pin grounded, your timing will be all over the place when you check it.

Just and update I finally got the ECTS in today, but I will not be able to install it untill this weekend. I'm also going to change out the #1 O2 sensor too. I'll let you guys know if it fixed the problem or not.

Just to add to this, after you set your base timing via a timing light to 5*btdc, your timing should bounce around between 8-10 * on the logger at idle. If it was 6* prior, your base timing was off to begin with.

How can I fix that? My CAS is in the head not on the outside of the head. The timing has been around 6* since I've started logging before and after changing the timing belt. I do have a chip so that maybe how it was burned. Sorry if I'm coming of as an @ss, but I do want and appreciate the help.
