Ok, first off here is what I recently did to my car. I have a 3" Megan Turbo Back exhaust, the eBay SSAutoChrome FMIC and short piping, and an eBay EvoIII 16g. The problem I have is that my turbo doesnt reach full spool (12lbs) until like 6,000 in first gear and about 5,000 in 3rd gear. The turbo starts spooling at around 3-4,000 in first gear and spools slow. It holds the 12 lbs fine and barely creeps to like 12.4 in a 3rd gear pull. I hear all these other 16g guys getting full boost before 4,000...
Also if I step on it sometimes the turbo will spin but you wont feel any power. If I let off and floor it again it sometimes kicks in and the car moves fine. This mostly happens in the higher gears at low rpms, the boost gauge reads the 10-12 lbs and you hear the turbo spinning like crazy but you dont feel any power.
Any ideas?

Ive heard alot of people with an ebay turbo complaining about how slow their spool is. I guss you get what you payfor

What a helpful post...i'm sure everything on you car is made of gold...WTF

First thing you might want to do is test for boost leaks and do a compression test. If you are not sure how just search for them. Report the results back here.

I sprinkled my car with diamonds.
Just because I'm bling bling like that.

haha, come on Twack, even though I'm sick of all this ebay bashing and overused phrases like "you get what you pay for" and "no moving parts from ebay".
But AT THE LEAST, contribute to this guy's thread.

Definitely do as coolg said,
An intake leak test http://www.vfaq.com/mods/ICtester.html
and a compression test http://www.dsmgrrrl.com/FAQs/compression.htm

And check to make sure your wastegate's operating.

Also, how's your current tune up-maintence?

Good Luck!

Ok still have this problem
no boost leaks and compression is fine.

Now I am thinking maybe it is an exhaust leak right before the turbo but is there a way to verify this? I will be taking off the manifold probably today to check out the gasket, any ideas on gasket or sealant to use?
Also my fan is starting to melt again, im guessing an exhaust leak would do this?
I dont see full spool til about 6k in 3rd gear :(

The exhaust leak would do this, a rather bad one. Use a stock gasket with RTV orange if you can, or just RTV orange if you're so inclined. The way I tested mine was to place my hand near the manifold with the engine on feeling for air. With a leak like what yours is sounding like, you'll feel it.
