Well I'm trying to help my buddy get his car up and running again, but we r stumped. What happened is that him and another friend dropped his trans to put in a new flywheel. They put everything back together and it was running for a lil while, then he was unable to get it into any gear. He says it makes a noise kinda like bearing popping around in nuetral. He says its not loud but you can hear it, and feel it if you put your hand on the trans. But when he presses in the clutch it goes away. So we brought it to my house and pulled off the shift linkageon the trans and tried to shift it manually, while it was off ofcourse, and the front back selector moved freely, but up down was no good. So we pull the trans and the first thing i notice it that it kinda seems as if the teeth on the pressure plate weren't out as far as i remembered on the last one i saw. Secondly now that the trans is out both selectors move freely. drained the fluid and it looks pretty clean, no shavings. I believe its a issue with the clutch, he is still thinking trans, so we feel we need some fresh thoughts on the matter. So lets recap.....

Cant go into any gear
Strange chatter in nuetral, goes away when clutch is depressed
Cant move selector when trans was in but moves freely now
Teeth on pressure plate may or may not be fully out
No "visible" shavings in fluid

Now that we read this we thought and he told me they didnt you threadlockOMG so i'm thinkin a bolt backed it self out.:notgood: So off we go to investigate..... TO BE CONTINUED
