I put some 264/272 in my car a while back, with no problems.
The one thing I did notice was that my vaccum was off. It used to sit at around 20-21... but now only at 9-10. At first I figured that is was normal for a car with these cams.

This wasn't a problem until just recently, when I tried to stall my car. I don't race much, but when I tried, it took forever to even stall to 3K. Now, before the cams, I was able to stall to about 4200, at full boost (21psi). Also, I noticed that I have more lag... I can't hit 21psi until about 4100 rpms, when before it would reach it by 3800.

Something else I heard which I thought was strange was this little whistle when just barely getting on the gas in gear. It almost sounds like a little bird chirp, but I'm not in boost at the time. I'm not sure if this is related or not, and I can't remember when I first started noticing that noise. Maybe my CBV is going bad? It's a stock 1g.

Any suggestions?
 
Can you tell me what the vaccum is usually at when cans are done?

How about that bird chirp noise I'm hearing out of boost?

Wouldn't my car suffer performance wise? The car runs great, except for the added lag.

Actually, my wideband reads 16.1 when I'm going from 5% throttle to 15%... this only happens for a split second and it's always out of boost. Not sure if that means anything.

Agreed. Those cams will drop vacuum, but not to 9-10 in./hg. That's way too low. Based on your previous readings, you should be seeing 15-16 or thereabouts. The chirp noise is tough to pin down. When you re-check the timing marks, it might not be a bad idea to see if you can re-create the sound and isolate the location.

Probably related. A vacuum line is off, or has a hole, and it's throwing off your reading at the same time making that whistling noise. Check them all, even the ones under the throttle body.

Just a thought...
 
When it's in park I read around 9-10 for vaccum... in gear only 6-7. It also tries to stall in reverse if I jab the throttle. Also, the idle drops to 500-600 rpm while in gear.

I don't know how I can replicate the bird chirp... it only does it when I'm in gear and getting on the throttle out of boost.
