Okay heres my situation, my front left CB Boot has a hole in it the size of my index finger. It looks like the control arm bolt coming up from the control arm is to long and is rubbing against the boot when the wheel turns. I just bought a new boot thats a lot more thick and should up a lot better vs that bolt. Do I need to get a smaller bolt for the future? Another problem is that my wheel bearing nut won't losen, when ever I try to take it off the drive shaft turns with it, is there any special tool I need to keep the drive shaft steady? This is a really big problem because (I'm sure you all know) I need to get that off so I can replace the boot. Third, how would I go about taking off the drive shaft?

Here is how I have gotten it off,

- Make sure e-brake is on and chock wheels.
- Lower car down enough for 3 wheels to be on the ground pretty firmly.
- Then use a breaker bar with wrench when getting loose, put some PB blaster on it just in case.
- If that don't work and you have air tools available, use an impact gun or impact wrench.

The way I got my driveshaft nut off was to have someone stand on the brakes while I loosened it.

make sure you have a repair manual for the car, you will need it.

Alright with 94-98 Eclipse's There is an circpin at the end of the drive shaft. So I had to put a towel over the T.J. Case and knock it off gently with a hammer/ rubber mallet and the sanp pin(which is on the drive shaft) adjusts back to its pistion when you put the T.J. Case back on.
If anyone ever has a CB boot go out on them make sure you have all the right tools to do it. Such as Pickle Fork, Grease (4oz or more), go to like an autozone or car quest and get a special clamp tool to tighten the Cb boot clamp. It's a really long stupid process for a rubber boot but if you don't fix it in time it will end up costing you thousands instead of 25 bucks for a new one. Have all the right tools and a manual on how to take off all of your arms/joints you will be good. Thanks for the help. I would of taken a picture for you guys but my scanner is broken.

All this from just trying to change my routers and pads.... LOL
