I have a 1990 Mitsubishi Eclipse, N/t FWD , Auto . I have a shift light with three wires, red for power supply, black for ground and green for RPM sensor. Where do I hook the green wire up 2 ? Ive heard the white wire on the cam sensor, the white wire on the ecu, the rpm skrew on the gauge cluster. Does anyone know ? has anyone done it on a 1G seems no one can give me a logical answer.

From '91 to '99 the Tach uses the signal from the power transistor module. Only the '90 cars are different from every other DSM and you have to get the signal from the proper white wire on the noise filter (little metal box - see post 5 of http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/showthread.php?t=147266). Unfortunately my manual shows there are 3 white wires on it. But you must get the one that goes to the instrument cluster pin A12 or it won't work. Or just get it at the instrument cluster pin A12 itself (white). You also should make sure someone hasn't changed the ignition setup to use a 91-94 one which many people do. If that is the case there are articles on how it was done and where to get the tach signal.

I have a 90, and when I installed my tach, I tapped the rpm feed straight from the ECU. It worked fine for me.
