like most DSM problems my car mysteriously began to run pretty much like shit. it felt like i was getting no fuel because how bad the car stuttered when i wasn't on the gas and of course the terrible idle. i pulled the plug wires off and found massive amounts of water on top of spark plugs 2 and 3. i sponged up the water as to pull the plugs out and ran a compression test. 120psi in both cylinders so i assume it is not the head gasket. So:beatentodeath: how in the world did i get water in there???

p.s. This is the second time this has happened but now the car refuses to stay running.

Water on top of the spark plugs? If you have your cover off and a hose was leaking it could get in there. I don't know for sure if there's a water jacket right on the plugs. This is a first for me. However, water can get in there from extraneous sources. See if it's anti freeze or water. If you have anti freeze, then you need to perform a dye test. Put the dye in, run the engine until it's warm. Shut it off and use a black light to see if you see green around the plugs. If it's green and it didn't spray from somewhere else, then voila. You have found it. Also it will help to look all over your cooling system for leaks you might have otherwise missed.

Good Luck

I'll have to try that then. i don't run usually antifreeze because well...it is usually 100 degrees here tucson anyway. but i'll fill it up with antifreeze and give it a whirl. thank you
