Ottawa,
Ok, First off. This is what I've replaced in my cooling system.

Radiator
T-Stat
T-Stat gasket
All Oil to water coling lines
Waterpump
Waterpump gasket
Turbo water lines and all crush gaskets

Now this is what I've checked.

Radiator is not leaking
upper and lower Rad hoses are ok and not leaking
Oil cooling lines care not leaking
Waterpump is not leaking
Waterpipe is not leaking
T-Stat Housing is not leaking
Head Gasket is not leaking externally
There is no coolant on top of the Pistons
Friends have said I'm not blowing white smoke from tailpipe
No leaks in the driveway
No coolant in oil
Turbo water lines are not leaking

I keep losing coolant at about 1 litre(Quart) per 10 days approximately.

Im quite lost as to what to check next. Im maybe thinking the water lines that run into the throttle body might be leaking into the manifold and being burnt during combustion, But I see no white smoke.

If anyone has any Ideas please let me know.
Thanks

I would go to a local parts house and get some black light dye. Dose your cooling system and drive it a few days. Then get the black light that comes with the kit and go over your engine. When you hit your coolant leak, you will see a very bright green color. Follow it back to its origin and there you are. If it's leaking external, right after driving, open the hood and do the sniff test. Do you smell coolant? If you can't find green on or around your engine area it's likely coming out the tail pipe. You can do a combustion gas test for your radiator on that one. Snap On sells them and so do some parts houses. Basically you put a blue liquid in a glass chamber and draw air from your radiator up through the liquid. If hydrocarbons are in the cooling system, the dye will turn yellow. One or the other method will catch your leak. It can only be those two. If you have a plastic radiator, be sure to look close around the tank areas as they are prone to leak. Lastly, check your reservoir bottle. They sometimes crack and leak and can't be found with a pressure test as they are not a part of the pressurized system.

Let us know.

Just a dumb one, but did you replace radiator cap with radiator?
If not it could get bubble out to the resevoir after some driving, and not get sucked back in once the car cools off.
Just a thought.

Ya definately replace the rad cap if it hasn't been - you might even have it tested. You can also pressure test the system which will squirt coolant out at the leak. You can either buy a rad system pressure tester or have it done at any auto repair place. I swear by my pressure tester - it has found more leaks. :thumb:

usually its the heater core have you checked yoru oil? you can remove the rad cap and unplug the coil pack and turn the engine over.. if you see any bubbles in the coolant while you or your assistante is cranking then its probally your head gasket..

I don't know about 1g's that much, but on the 2g's our overflow bottle has a silly sensor on the bottom that never tends to stay on, it had me stumped as to why I kept loosing a litre every once and awhile.
