I have a stock 95 eclipse gt with a 16g Turbo on it. My question is can it be possible to snap the cylinder one connecting rod with this setup? Also i am getting a check engine light on and when it comes on the engine starts misfiring and wont accelerate. It also just had an engine swap. thanks for the help.

If you snapped a connecting rod, you would most likely hear the broken rod banging around inside the motor. A real quick check is to run a compression test on that cylinder. You can also disconnect the power transistor plug from the coilpack and remove the spark plug, have a friend crank the motor and shine a flashlight down the spark plug hole to see if you can see the piston moving up and down. Just a thought.

Oh trust me you will know when you snapped a rod. You will hear a loud crunch sound followed by a very loud string of wack wack wack wack....

Snapped rods are not always due to making to much power. It is more likely that you froze a bearing and it bent the rod which then snapped.

Questions: what motor did you swap in, 6 or 7-bolt? Do you have something to control those injectors? What is your full mod list, your profile is empty.

550 injectors, stock computer, 2nd gen engine, 16g killer turbo,XS Downpipe,Apexi exhaust, Dejon piping, and Dejon MAF translator.

Werd! This is no subtle occurance. It would be a violent demostration that involved much noise, smoke, and other bad stuff. As for performing a compression test...you would know before you did that. When a rod lets go, its going to contact the cylinder head. When it hits the head it will smash the spark plug in there and it may not even come out and if it does it will be chewed all to hell.

Both times I broke a rod, it pushed a hole in the block by the A/C unit, and dumped a crap load of oil in the street.
