My car turns left when steering wheel is straight in order to go straight I need to turn steering wheel right. Whats wrong with my car?

Check your tie rod ends first to see if they aren't shot (if they are replace them). If they aren't bad or after you replace them just get a wheel alignment and that should do the trick.

Unless you have had the steering wheel off and put it back on wrong, more than likely a suspension piece is bent or tweaked. Minor tweaking due to severe suspension strain (bumps, potholes, curbs) is common and will be fixed by a four-wheel alignment. They should also be able tell you if anything is worn. You can try to find the worn or damaged pieces yourself as Timechg suggested, but these things can be difficult to identify and either way you will need an accurate alignment when you are done.

I had an old beater truck that had an issue like that. Some of the steering teeth were bad. I could turn the wheel about 20 degrees without turning the tires. (It was a bi*** to drive). If you car pulls hard one direction when you let go of the wheel its probably the TOE on your alignment...this will also cause one tire to go bad very fast as it isn't pointing straight.

Have you hit any huge ass holes or anything while driving?

Possibly a bent lower control arm from hitting a pothole, curb etc thats the current problem mine has.

to 16Vdoh... point Ive hit large enough pot holes to split my rim apart with no other suspension damage...I knew it when I hit it though. IF you hit somthing that did damage; you'll remember it.

I was trying to teach my girlfriend to drive stick in the k-mart parking lot and she ran over a curb....dont ask:D

But yea it put a v bend in the lower arm right in the middle now it pulls to the right hard when you let go the wheel but the arm could have been weakened by all the salt and shit we use on our roads in the winter up here ROFL ROFL ROFL

If he hit something it will most likely break the weakest link in my case the rusty control arm.

Worn wheel bearings(hub assembly) and ball joints can cause your tire to be loose and wander as well. Check this by jacking the car up and grasp it at 12 and 6 o'clock, wiggle up and down. You'll know if it has play. Tie rods will cause play from left to right (3 and 9 o'clock).

My 92 right side wheel is back in wheel well 1" further than left. i fixed some of the problem with control arm. something else is still out of wack? any suggestions. could spindle or strut be bent? ball joints seem good.
