Hi guys !

I have a COLT GT with a 1G 4g63t engine.

I've been having a problem for quite a while but yesterday it got a lot worst.

My car is lossing water, I had to fill the radiator everyday, I used to put in about 1 liter every morning (I drive like 30 miles a day).

Yesterday my mechanic took the car, he run a leak test and there were no leaks, the hoses are good, the radiator is good, the water pump is good, etc.

He changed the radiator cap (13 lbs), the temperature bulb and the thermostat. It had an 88 thermostat and replaced it with an 82 thermostat that should be a bit colder.

Today when I got to the office the car was heating a bit more than usual, after the car cooled down I checked the radiator and put in about 2 liters of water. So, after replacing those parts the car is lossing about 4 times more water than it used to.

I have no idea what it could be, there are no leaks, there is no oil in the coolant and no coolant in the oil. My mechanic says that it could be the radiator with too much dirt or the head.

Any ideas ???

Thanks for your help.

umm if there are no puddle's under the car.. and a good way to check your head gasket is to remove the rad cap and unplug the inejctor's then crank the motor over and if you see any bubble's in the rad fill area its the head gasket..

the only other place is your heater core.. the water can seap down and be soaked up by the carpet and you cant really see it.. maybe loop you water lines for the heater core and see if you still loose water.. you dont wanna over heat is you run the risk of warping your alumium head..

Ok guys ...

It turns out my mechanic moved the wastegate so I saw the boost gauge going all the way to 15 psi and then back to 10 psi, my boost controller didn't work even though it was set to 10 psi, so I knew something was messed up.

I took my car to a REAL mechanic and he told me that the wastegate was closed so there some boost peaks, we don't know how big were the peaks.

To make the story short, my head gasket was blown. Now I need a new head gasket, also my new mechanic recommended ARP studs. What head gasket can you recommend me and what do you think about the ARP studs ?
