2G-specific Strange humming noise inside engine bay

Okay, when I was driving my car today I noticed that the ABS light came on and I thought that it was wierd but not a huge deal. But when I stopped, I could hear a very loud sort of humming noise coming from inside the engine bay. When I popped the hood it sounded like it was coming from the powersteering pump or somewhere around there on the driver's side. Does anyone have any idea what this could be? I have no idea what it could be so PLEASE HELP, any info would be greatly appreciated!

id personally check the break fluid...and your power steering fluid levels...they could be low..power steering pumps hum and grind when low...

Update- It seems like the problem is temporarrily solved. I believe the noise was coming from the power steering resivour, not the pump itself but idk. I checked all the fluid levels and they were all good (actually the power steering was over the "MAX" line, dont know what that means). But I disconnected the battery and it stopped. When I put it back on again and started it up the noise was gone and the ABS light was off. Not sure if this is gonna last, but it works for now.
