i bought my car and the guy who had it before me lost the keyless entry/alarm remote. I bought the car in december and has been fine till the other day i opened my door and the alarm started going off. I disconnected the battery to see if it would rest and it lasted about 2 days then it went off again when i opened the door. i pulled the anti-theft fuse but it still goes off but it doesn't honk anymore. Does anyone know whats wrong?

I dont know if the alarm on the 2G is the same as the 1G so dont kill me if it dosn't work for you.

On my 1G I disabled the alarm by removing the passenger side kick panel. Theres a box with 2 cables attached tot he bottom of it. I removed the cable on the right. Thats it. This however will disable your power door locks. Theres another more complicated way to disable the alarm without losing your power door locks but it was too hard for me to do.

with 2g's...you disarm the alarm by sticking the key in the drivers side door and lock the car, then unlock the car. This works for the stock alarm without having the factory remote.

For the aftermarket alarms, you have to pull the brain of the alarm out.

i did stick the key in the door but it still wont disarm. i tried it with the passenger door too but still didnt disarm.

Are sure no one before you installed an aftermarket alarm? I have both factory and aftermarket alarm on my car. You can purchase the remotes from e-bay alot cheaper then getting them from a dealership. And I believe there is a tech article on how to program them if I'm not mistaken. Hope that helps alittle.
