So I got a new engine from karking and it is installed and I went to start the car and it started up but there is a loud knocking noise coming from it. Does anyone have any ideas what this is or how to solve it?

And when i push the clutch in there is no pressure. Any ideas on this? It just sinks to the floor.

Anyone someone told me it was my lifters but its pretty loud so i dunno if it is that. anyone have any ideas?

Lifter noise is very common with DSM's and the noise sounds like fast "tick." If your "tick" is loud even outside the car with the hood closed, or if it sounds like it is coming from the bottem end, than that could be a rod knock.

About the clutch, you may need to bleed the slave cyliner. to do so just jack up the car, locate the slave cyliner (mounted on the transmission) there will be a 12mm bleeder valve on it, loosen this, and push the clutch to the floor (the pedal will stick to the floor) and clutch fluid (brake fluid) will squirt out of the bleeder valve. Tighten the valve and pull the pedal back to the correct possition (repeat until you get the desired stiffness to your clutch pedal). You may need to add more fluid to the reservoir after this.

i'm pretty sure you want to push the clutch pedal to the floor before you open the bleeder and not to let off until it's closed.

here's a link http://www.dsmtuners.com/forums/sho...ghlight=how+to+install+clutch+master+cylinder

ignore the removal of the master cylinder part and you should be good. make sure you use a piece of vacuum hose on the bleeder and a cup filled with brake fluid and submerge the other end of the hose. otherwise you can suck air back into the line. 2 people makes this a lot easier.

i also think the bleeder is 10mm and the mounting bolts are 12mm

for the knocking it could be the lifters although that usually isn't extremely loud; audible but not "loud". changing oil (although you said it's new? or new to your car and used?) with some sort of extra solvent stuff might help. possibly, if lifters are the problem you can try replacing them.

If the car knocks when it just idles then it should be the lifter....if he car knock whne you rev it up to about about 2 to 3000rpm then it your connecter rods the bottom end of your motor...
