140mph and lost 2???

I had a twurp in a mustang follow me out of the gas station.He gos flying by me.So I naturally speed up and caught him and past.I didnt realize untill I looked I was creeping up on 140 I slowed down and drove about 40 more miles at 70.Since then I have lost about 2 psi of boost.Could I have damaged something or could this be a simple boost leak.

Well... start out by the basics, does it idle different? or does it act any different than it used to before?

Start by doing a simple boost leak test, maybe with the vibration at such high speed something may have come lose.

im gonna have to go with a boost leak. Try a leak test and use soapy water to be sure of clamps.

Its been a little sluggish at low rpms,but nothing major.I have another repair to do on another car.I will do the boost leak test as soon as Im done with that will let you know.The cold a** weather can cause procrastination too.

electronic boost controller?? manual ????

manual boost controllers will change with temperature.

and a crappy boost gauge will also tell you the wrong stuff..

or..... your cheap junk crap manifold cracked.

Sounds just like my car. Any time I'm under full boost for over 10 seconds in 4th-5th gear something blows off, its not even occationally anymore... I just expect it. If I make a highway pull something will blow out. My solution is not making pulls from anything higher than 3rd. Gotta love boost leaks. Did you hit fuel cut?

WTF ... dude this is crazy invest in some proper ic pipes with beads on the ends, and some t-bolt clamps, this will never happen again.

I already have real IC pipes and anything that's ever blown off is t-bolt clamped already. If its not a pipe, it will be a gasket, seal, etc.

Ran a boost leak test found bad clamps...Replaced all is good.Thanx

Wait until you blow your GM MAF out of the cupplers at 20psi. Ooooo boy
