CoilPack or ECU problem?

Well my tachometer has been acting weird. Sometimes it will work and other times it wont. Sometimes it will stick at one RPM and other times it will sit at zero.. I know the coil pack has some type of tach wire on it and I would think that the ECU may be bad. Just looking for some info from someone who knows a bit more.

While I already started a post, I should put this in here also. My speedmoter has not been working either. I checked the cable where it goes in the trans and it looked fine. I also took the cluster off to see if it spun and it did not. I take it that the cable is snapped somewhere along the line? Is that the only other option?
