ok I picked up a 1G laser FWD 5spd turbo and the problem I am havign is the car has NO POWER in the lower RPM's it will hardly stay running on its own strenght, BUT if u get the rpms up to liek 4k and above it pulls and rips like crazy...

I plan to change the plugs first but do u guys think this is more like a coil problem, fuel, spark or internal?

anything these 4g63's are known for having wrong

no AFC, it appears to be BONE STOCK, there is a coil in the trunk (old) I think he said he replaced it, new turbo another 14b I guess, open air box other then that I woudl say it is completly stock

Ok, let me get this strait. We are looking at a 1G turbo bone stock with a coil pack in the trunk. Lets break this down into steps. Given the info at hand, check to make sure all the plugs are sparking. 1gs have a problem with the ignition control module going out. If only one of the plugs on each coil is fireing check the wiring and if it all seems to be in place, replace the ICM.

I would definately recommend the plugs and add wires to the list. The oil pressure gauge problem is probably just the wire fell off. The sender is located right beside the oil filter. You might also want to check and see if you have a boost leak somewhere.

I got plugs, wires, oil pres sender (light) and a compression tester I will do those things first. Next I will check for a boost leak by using a can or carb clear and spray down the hoses. Also I was thinking I should replace the fuel filter, however I was curious where is it on this car? engine bay or under car?

I am not 100% on the 1g car but on the 2g it is right beside the battery. Now that you said that the oil light was on and the guage read high I would venture to say you have blow by. Deffinatly check your compression. Let us know.

Will do that was one of my concerns, and this would be due to the rings right? The guy I bought it from told me the wires were un-done or broke off but he also told me the car would make it home, he lied about that and everything else so far too. So who knows
