The symptons,

First fact is my clutch resevoir is slowy emptying and I fill it once every 2 weeks before it gets too low.

The 1st problem is after I shut my car off(which runs perfectly) the automotic door locks dont work, but if I press the clutch to the floor they will magically work again. There is a slighty audible click when I push the clutch to the floor.

2nd problem just happened 10 minutes ago. Driving home the car lost all power as if I didn't even have a battery in the damn thing then magically 3-5 seconds later it has power again. I start it and everything is fine.

No idea if this problem is clutch related, but seems to be

Any Ideas, I'm lost??

Thanks,
97 Talon TSI front wheel drive

Check and clean the grounds to your engine, Check your battery terminals, and also look under the dash near the clutch for lose wires.

Clutch reservoir emptying. Pull the boot back on your slave cylinder. If it's wet inside, replace or rebuild the slave. If it's dry, look the master cylinder over very closely. If you can't see a line leak, it's likely the master cylinder.

Replace the master cylinder if it's leaking.

Yes, sounds like a loose connection somewhere. Look around your clutch pedal for something touching. The clutch has nothing to do with the door locks. They run independent of pretty much everything. You may need a test light to put on the door lock switch and have someone go under the dash and wiggle wires. "Ford's famous wiggle test" Albiet it does work. If the light flickers, look at what you wiggled for loose connections, frayed ends, or cut insulation.

Make sure all your battery connections are good and all fuses are good.

If that doesn't help, get a schematic and start tracing from the switch back to the battery. Something will turn up.

FastYZFR6 and Silverstrocker are right. Do as they say also. You never know where it comes from.

Good Luck

Well I went under the dash sure enough it is all wet under there looks like fluid coming from the boot on the clutch going into the firewall. Does this mean the master cylinder needs replacing?? I've seen repair kits online too?? Going to look at old posts for the answer hopefully.

But the door lock and loss of power problem I'm guessing is one of two possibilies. The leaking clutch fluid seems to be awfully close to all the electrical wiring, so could be shorting out. Also I had the vaccuum line to my aftermarket turbo gauge getting hit which in return was pulling on other wires so I rerouted this one for now. But before I drive and test it I want to get the leak fixed first.

Thanks for all the help!!
