So we fixed all my exhaust leaks, turboflange gasket, some other things. The turbo was pulling a little sooner than we expected so we threw it on the dyno to check everything out. Now, 3 months ago I had the car dynoed and it dynoed 340awhp and 300awtq....Yesterday it dynoed 190awhp OMG . THe car was unbelievably lean, and the AFC was maxed out and couldnt get anymore fuel in. So I bought AEM EMS. THe guy who tunes AEM EMS has been tunning for years and knows his shit. Today we played with things all day and could only get 200awhp with 12psi.

Here are the specs from AGP on my turbo...
Compressor Specs
-T04E compressor housing 3" inlet 2" outlet
-T04S compressor housing 4" inlet 2.5" outlet
-6 bladed 56 trim GT40 compressor wheel 2.41/3.22 61mm inducer

Turbine Specs
-T31 4 bolt outlet turbine housing available in .63 and .82 A/R
-GT 4 bolt outlet turbine housing available in .82 and 1.06 A/R with 3" outlet
-84 trim GT30 turbine wheel 2.16/2.36

Here are the rest of my mods...
SFP Manifold
Turbonetics 38mm Wastegate
AGP Stainless 02 Housing
3"Turbotech Downpipe
3" Hi-flow Cat
3" Greddy PE Exhaust
Hallman MBC (brand new)
Denso 660 Injectors
Wahlbro 255 FP
Custom IC piping
Greddy 24R FMIC
ACT 2600
Greddy Type S BOV
OBX Intake

Now we got the car up to 250awhp...but to get there we took the exhaust off after the downpipe and took off the wastegate. We got 22psi when we did that but the power dropped off anyways. This dyno is right before we took off the wastegate, the charts look the same only difference is more boost and more power....but all the power drops off before the boost really kicks in. Any ideas???

hows yur fuel pressure ... possibly losing pressure at wot ... maybe fuel pumps not gettin enough volts to spin it at high rpms

That turbo will have alot more air volume compared to someone with a 16g or a 14b, are the 660s being pushed beyond there limits? Whats your injector pulse width and duty cycle sitting at? Also you state you fixed 'other things' Please elaborate and we can assist you more.

I don't think the 660s are pushed beyond their limits, since I just dynoed 340awhp 2 months ago with the same boost.

As far as "some other things" we just cleaned the turbo and another exhaust leak, I don't remember exactly where it was though.

Something just doesnt add up when you only fixed some issues, and now your afc cant even give sufficent fuel as it did before. How are the plugs? Do you have a wideband? If so what were the readings? Have any logs? What was the purpose of the aem? If it was OK with the afc before (i assume) then something else must be the problem. Getting a standalone and only getting 10 more hp is pretty much worthless. I know you got up to 250awhp but you wont be running 22psi everyday will you? Did you reset the battery? what are your fuel trims at?

Also according to your dyno sheet, the boost rising and hp going downhill is a sign of knock/timing being pulled. We need a log :)

I'll get all of that tomorrow. Right now I'm just trying to think of what could be going wrong. We moved fuel all over, we did all sorts of timing, tried different igntion maps....nothing.

If the motor's running lean up top, then it sounds like fuel delivery. I didn't see an AFPR in your list of mods and it could be that the stocker is failing. If you do have an AFPR, make sure that it's functioning properly and that base fuel pressure is set to 43 psi. Also, check voltage to the fuel pump and replace the fuel filter if you're not sure when it was last replaced.

Buying an EMS and throwing more parts at the situation won't fix your issue. Perform the correct diagnostics and see what you can find before adding more variables.

Good luck!

We did a compression test. Cylinder 4 was a little low, 120. But not THAT low. We threw the 50trim on and I was right, spooled like crazy and made some sweet power.

That is VERY low. Service limit is 133 I think? Anyways, just 1 low cylinder in that area generally points to a headgasket. Broken / bent valves would give you 0 compression or very close to 0 and I find it had to believe your rings broke just in that 1 cylinder. Do a leakdown test, fix whats wrong, then redyno. An AEM won't fix mechanical internal problems...

Yes I know AEM wont fix internal problems and I never said it would. The new turbo DID get me more power and a larger powerband. But I'm not stupid enough to just assume everything is cool since I have more power. We are going to figure out why theres low compression on that cylinder tomorrow. I didn't drive the car home because we didn't think it was safe enough.

But you are right, now that I think about it, 120 is VERY low. While the head is open we're going to replace the cams anyways and also figure out whats wrong. Please don't think I'm just upgrading stuff to fix the problem. Anything else I should look for?

Hell, that's usually when I get to do more mods! I just have to convince the wife, "Honey, I can't help it. That last mod stepped things up too much, so now I have to even things out." I'm surprised she'd never told me to just take the last mod off. I'm sure she's knows by now that's not an option. Anywho, sorry for the rambling. I don't really have anything to add. As usual, it's pretty much been done by time I see it. Do the tests and see what ya got.

Well I end up having to convince my mom about every mod I end up getting. I just don't want people to think I'm throwing new stuff at the problem without doing tests to find the problem.

Who knows, something screwy inside the block could have been the reason why my turbo wont spool. If thats the case then great, after we fix it this new turbo will spool even earlier.

Not that this is your problem but just so you know i looked at the specs of your trubo and they seem identical to my SBR GT-14 turbo and this thing doesn't even wake up untill like 25psi area so if I were you I would pick up some 750's or 850's and tune again for a higher boost level either that or sell that turbo and get a 50 trim cause you bought the wrong turbo if your only lookin to make 340hp.

If your still having problems, I would check the injector seals, especially behind that one cylinder that tested low. You may not be getting sufficent fuel in that one cylinder.
