Only stalls on warm/hot days

My beater, 91 eclipse gs 2.0 5spd, has been acting up lately but only when it is warm or hot out. It doesnt do it when it is cooler out at all. when i come to a stop it just totally dies about 2 out of 10 times, sometimes more depending on the temp. It will also do it sometimes when i just press the clutch while moving at a good pace. The ISC should be fine, checked it due to surge probs. Let me know what you think, any ideas will help.

do you have coolant in your car? is it overheating or just turning off?
 
Sounds like an electrical problem to me. On hot days, electrical connections expand. this can cause small gaps that were easily traversed to become to large. I'd check for a problem with the fuel pump connections or for to your coil pack. That's the first assumption without any further details.

yeah i was thinking somewhere along the same lines. i guess i could throw another ISC in there to see what happens. I know my FIAV isnt working correctly, was thinking that could be the issue also. Lets see if i can get a few more responses.
 
The EGR on the back of the Manifold is vacuum ran no electrical. I had a similiar problem years ago. It was loaded with Carbon. You can A. Clean it out. B. Get a EGR block off plate and cap off the vacuum lines on the TB. Its one thing to look at :) Let me now if it fixes your problem actually when I think of it I had about 3 cars that valve went bad I just actually removed the valve cut out a sheet metal template and reinstalled and capped the vacuum lines on the TB
 
yeah im familiar with the egr and blockoff, i am going to just start checking everything tomorrow and figure it out. i wish there was an advanced problem diagnosis forum. im far from the newbie...

I'm not a Newbie been around a long time just hit this board. Unfortunally with the age of the car and all the weather conditions where there at. It might take a bunch of Diagnosis before you find the problem there is nothing clean cut. Your lucky its not the 2G with this issue that cars a maze with the OBDII stuff :barf:
 
Dug up a coolant sensor and another egr valve from the garage and installed them yesterday. Going to test it out today due to 60's in ohio.
 
replacing the coolant temp sensor and the egr did no good. i am going to replace the throttle body and see if that helps. I also get idle surge during warm up, then it settles down once it reaches operating temperature. It has done that since i got the car. any other ideas are greatly appreciated.

Warmer weather is approaching very quickly, i need to figure this problem out as soon as possible. It wont do it unless its decently warm out and when its hot it stalls every time i come to a stop or depress the clutch while moving. The ecu, is fine...rebuilt about 8 months ago. My next step is to grab another throttle body and throw it on, thinking it could be the fiav possibly and hopefully that will get rid of the surge on warm up. Any ideas are greatly appreciated.
