So i have been having idle problems, I tried blocking off the EGR valve to see if that was to blame. Well it wasnt, and I was sick of getting a CEL for it, so I unblocked it. Well now I have a new CEL, and its calling P1400.

This has something to do with the map sensor on my intake manifold right?> I cant see why i have a CEL other than that maybe I bumped it when I was working on the EGR valve. I checked the connectors and everything looks fine. Can they just go bad like that?

And is there any way to test it?

Thanks, David

i have the same code on my car and need help with it.95 tsi awd auto.in between 3000 and 4500 rpms it almost seems like it back fires then breaks free. dont really know but i need help.thanks, jason

The MDP is the sensor on top of the intake manifold. Do you have a Chilton's manual? They have instructions to test it in there.
