:dsm: Hey guys, I am just getting my car back together after a 3 year build. My Autometer EGT isn't reading correctly. My car has to get up to temperature before the needle will even move. I drive the car around a bit and the needle will slowly move up. The longer the car runs, the higher the needle goes. It doesn't change with the way I drive. What could be wrong?? Thanks in advance to everyone, these cars would be impossible without dsmtuners forums. :dsm:

Normally (on my car anyway) you should see the temps slowly rise to ~1000F (530C) at idle and then peak to ~1500F at WOT (800C). Cruise should hold steady around 1300F (700C).

Probe may be bad ( OEM Replacement or better yet TRE's Replacement ) or the connection itself is faulty.

If you used speaker cable and/or the junction btw gauge and thermocouple is loose/bad, you'd likely see errant readings on the gauge :dsm:
