i was tightening my head in increments on 20lbs 40lbs 60lbs 80lbs ft lbs when tightening down my head.

before i was on 20 ft lbs i lubed up the threads on my ARP head studs and lubed up the washers with 30 weight motor oil ..and after getting to 40 ft lbs i noticed oil on the block.

since the head wasnt tightened down enough the oil leaked from the head onto the head gasket then onto the block...and at that point i didn't want to take the head off because i would of had to get a new head gasket and i just got this COMETIC that cost me $100..

so will i be fine or will i blow this head gasket ?

need help asap !!!!!

It will be fine. The oil will not compromise the sealing of the gasket. Just torque it to spec and then retorque after a couple of heat cycles.
