Just completed installing GT3065 and 44mm tial along with a Magnus intake and PLX 300 on 2g Talon with 6 bolt conversion. It idles fine, no sticking of throttle linkage, revs fine and returns to idle. On the road as boost starts to build it will just accellerate even if you take your foot off the pedel. Nearly like the cruise control is taking over and is set for 100+++. Once you step on the brake and clutch it will come down. Also, boost will go to 30 psi no matter where I set the boost controller. I have totally disconnected the cruise control cable and wiring, checked the vacumum hoses on the throttle body rechecked the throttle cable for any obstructions. Any ideas on what is going on would be great. Thanks.

Definately sounds like a throttle issue. If your throttle plate isn't sticking, possibly your TPS is going bad.

Concerning the boost. What spring is in your wastegate? If it's a high psi spring, you'll have to swap it out for a lower psi spring. If it is a low psi spring, the it is possibly a bad mbc. Try remove the mbc completely and running off the wastegate and see where you are with that.

check your throttle body, usually the plate sticks like the other guys say. Oil usually surrounds the lining of the plate. You can clean it but make sure not to get the cleaning solution into the holes or sensors.

Are you sure there isn't a vacuum line tugging at the cables when you accelerate ( it happens)? Have you checked to make sure the throttle plate isn't sticking? Just throwing out some ideas.

What do you mean by a vacuum line tugging at the cables? I've already installed two different throttle bodies to 100 percent eliminate that from the list. I used to have boost creep with my 50 trim internal, but I don't think that is an issue here. I have swaped three different boost controllers to see if that is the problem, no go there also. pulled out the cruise control, pulled out the throttle cable, basically done all the troubleshooting that i know how to. i appreciate the suggestions. keep'em coming.

thanx

1. Did you replace the throttle cable with a non-cruise cable or are you still using the old cable with the cruise control unplugged?

2. Boost creep = Initially settles at boost setting than slowly increases with rpm.
Run away boost = Boot shoots straight up immediately.

Which do you have?

3. Is the wastegate mounted on manifold or O2?

4. Which boost controller and how is it hooked up?

2. what is the solution for boost creep on an external?

3. the wastegate is on the o2

4. hallman, hallman evo, and turbo xs. have tried all three

sadly now the car has more problems...now it will just die driving and wont start for awile, kinda like its flooded.......

I'm pretty sure that you have to replace the entire cable with a non cruise cable, I suspect this is probably the source of your throttle problem and might have something to do with the hard start problem.

2. what is the solution for boost creep on an external?
Does this mean you have boost creep? If so, the problem is not the external wastegate, it where it's mounted. The biggest cause of boost creep is the turbine housing, mainly the wastegate path entrance located at the inlet of the turbine housing, not the O2 housing like most believes therefore the effectiveness of an o2 mounted external is still limited to the restrictions in the turbine housing. There are two solutions to this problem.

1. Remove the turbine housing and port it like this.

2. Re-mount the wastegate on the manifold.

Let's see if the non-throttle cable solves this problem as I have a feeling they might be related. Check and make sure that you're not getting fuel in oil.

Taking a break on the car tommorow need to clear the head. The wastegate can't go anywhere else with the FP set up. The Tial has a specific place kept in place with V- clamps

As for the stalling problem, it might be that the alky injection kit is for some reason flooding the throttle body. we'll see after a day repreve.
thanx for all the help

When you say a non-cruise control cable what do you mean. the cable that connects to the cruise is a completely different cable than the throtte cable. When I disconnected the cruise cable it just left the top pulley empty, nothing else was restricted/hinderd

I've been running mine like that for about 4 months without a problem.
