I have bought a Dejon Tool manual boost controller and a boost gage from their site... Now we have both hooked up properly and i know it is hooked up right because there are 2 people who specialize in DSM's that say its just fine but heres the problem:

On the directions for the boost controller it says to blow through the tube and make sure your only getting a little air... thats where you should have it set and start from there.

So we did... and and well my boost on a stock car pretty much went up as high as 22 and half throttle. To me that seems odd cause I believe I should of hit fuel cut before then. So then we turned the boost controller all the way down.. closed it completely... and we still where going up to 20ish area. At this point we where getting a little worried like the boost gage wasnt reading right or something. But we took no chances at all and didnt drive it.

Suddenly my friend got an idea to turn it all the way up and boom im at 13lbs of boost right now... and i have no idea where this thing is set at... it is confusing the crap outta me

I was also told that running 12lbs at stock would be the best idea ... and also i could run 15lbs but there is a high chance of some knocking? This is what a friend told me here who owned one fast little eclipse.. well 3 of em actually.

So if anyone here knows what my problem might be well it would help us a bunch

Thanks

So your question is about whether or not 15 lbs of boost is safe or not?

Yes, it's completely fine. I ran 15-16 psi stock. It's always a good idea to geta logger though.

Sounds like you have it hooked up backwards and are just freewheeling the turbo. Basically you are just spooling it all throughout the RPM range to where it will never stop building boost until it can't anymore. Also check for cracks in the vacuum line. Or go get new one's. Cheap insurance if that is all it is.

Exactly.

If you are blocking the air going to the Wastegate Actuator, (closed it all the way) you are increasing boost.

To lower boost you want to Increase the air going to the wastegate actuator.

Wastegate actuator has about 7psi average of spring pressure, so a direct line to the gate would open at 7psi or so. throw a boost controller in between and limit the air passage and you increase this.
